Bio

My research centers on the dosage compensation mechanism in male Drosophila melanogaster, which ensures that its single X chromosome is expressed at a twofold level to match the output of females’ two X chromosomes. Using genetic tools in Drosophila and downstream molecular and imaging techniques, I investigate how the repressive arm of the pathway contributes to the precise twofold expression of X-linked target genes in males.
