The Cell and Molecular Biology Program Area (CMB) is an important part of what made San Diego State the number one small research university in the United States. The CMB program is recognized as one of the strongest research areas in the California State University system as measured by grant activity, faculty accomplishments, advanced degrees awarded, and success of its students.
