About Zoology

San Diego State University offers a Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in Zoology, giving students an understanding of animal biology, evolution, physiology, and behavior. The program includes core biological sciences, such as genetics, cell biology, and ecology, with focused courses in zoology. In the zoology emphasis, students study animal diversity, evolutionary biology, and ecological interactions in addition to hands-on lab work and field study opportunities. Graduates are well-prepared for careers in wildlife biology, conservation, animal behavior, or further studies in veterinary science and research.
